Distribution of any product is tricky especially when there are so many competitors trying to sell the same. The representative earns a commission on each product sold and the home owner usually gets a free gift for a first order.

Television advertising has always been an effective way to promote a particular cosmetic product. Well known celebrities have been involved for a long while now in the advertising and promotion of make-up, face creams, shampoo, hair dye. People such as Davina Macall, Beyonce Knowles, Kate Moss and Andi MacDowell have all starred as part of an advertising campaign at one time or another.

For an effective advertising campaign make-up companies sift through thousands of girls and images in order to make sure they have the right person to promote their product. This often sells well, and is popular with young women.

In shops, assistants liberally spray the product, as well as having testers for the customer to try.
